Implementation of Fiber Optic Cable and Duct Networks
As part of the YCDC business relationship, we have also implemented a full Traffic Management System for YCDC throughout Yangon City and extendable to Yangon Region in future. This traffic management system will utilize the fiber optic duct (FOD) /Cable (FOC) infrastructure implemented under the BOT agreement.
Wehave already installed themetropolitanFiber Optic Cable (FOC) network and fiber optic duct (FOD) network in Yangon and Mandalay in order to provide wholesale cable and bandwidth services to new and existing Telecom Operators and Internet Service Providers (ISP).This includes five FOC “rings” for the two Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), Telenor and Ooredoo.
Countrywide Fiber Optic Cable (FOC) network has been established by Eager. Now, we are continuing our FOD developments throughout the country. We have implemented approximately 63 km distance of FOD backbone for Kawkareik – Myawaddy route. In addition, we are installing the FOD backbone of Taunggyi- Loikaw- Taungoo route approximately 470 km indistance.
We are also planning the installation of Monopole Towers in order to provide increased coverage for the MNO’s to satisfy the capacity demands.
